Coastal Commission to give up authority over Pacific Grove construction

PACIFIC GROVE >> Fourteen years after it started, Pacific Grove is set to complete certification that will allow local residents, builders and developers to submit plans to the city instead of seeking approval from the California Coastal Commission. In an emailed announcement, Pacific Grove senior planner Anastazia Aziz said that within a year and a half, the city expects to have a plan certified by the Coastal Commission that would relinquish the commission’s authority over most construction projects within the city.
